Delhi HC on Tuesday sought Delhi University’s reply to a plea moved by the Ph.D. scholar. National secretary of NSUI Lokesh Chugh against his debarment by the varsity for a year. Over his indulgence in the screening of a documentary on PM.
The single-judge court of Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav remarked that. The university’s order dated March 10 has not recalled the application of intellect. The court gave three days to the varsity to file a counter-deposition. It itemized the topic for hearing on April 24. The court also consented liberty to Chugh to file his response.
“You are a statutory body. You are a university. The impugned charge has not shown the application of the intellect. It must have mirrored why you are finalizing. You file your counter because you desire to trust specific material. That material provided to the pleader,” the bench said.
