It is time to elect Delhi University new vice-chancellor. So, the Executive Council suggested seven names for the two positions. They submitted their names to the search committee.
The committee took some important decisions in the meeting. They clear a proposal of setting up a Centre for Himalayan Studies.

WHAT IS THE CENTRE FOR HIMALAYAN STUDIES?
It is a multidisciplinary research facility in which students will learn about the history, geography, societies, and other fields related to the Himalayas. Different departments of Economics, History, Biochemistry, and Arabic have got their departmental heads. Moreover, the heads were elected for three years.
When Yogesh Tyagi was suspended, the administration renewed the appointments after every few months. The elected members of the executive council raised the issue of absorption of AD HOC teachers of Delhi University.
TEACHERS PROTEST AT DELHI UNIVERSITY
PC Joshi is the acting vice-chancellor. So, he promised that he will set up a committee that will look into the matter. Last year, this demand led to protest with teachers occupying the vice-legal lodge on the Delhi University premises.
IT IS URGENT TO SET UP THE CENTRE FOR HIMALAYAN STUDIES
At the center, the members stated a proposal that it is urgent to set up a centre for Himalayan Studies. Because of the changes in climate and various anthropogenic activities. However, some of the major concerns related to the Himalayas are poverty, overexploitation of resources, and loss of biodiversity.
SEARCH COMMITTEE AT DELHI UNIVERSITY WILL RELEASE TWO NAMES
Balram Pani, the Dean of Colleges said that within a few days the search committee will release two names of which one will be of the nominee of the visitor. However, the administration has already released an advertisement for the new vice-chancellor.
STUDY MATERIAL IS AVAILABLE FOR LLB/LLM STUDENTS
Faculty of Law said that the whole study material is available online so it will not distribute it further to LLB/LLM students. Moreover, the members of the Executive Council submitted a note that this facility would create problems for visually impaired and underprivileged students.
WHO IS THE FIRST SENIOR-MOST TEACHER AT DELHI UNIVERSITY?
PC Joshi is the first senior-most teacher at DU who got the designation of senior professorship. JL Gupta, a member of the executive council said that UGC said that Delhi University should have a senior professorship.
