Delhi University Tiranga Yatra: Several students, officials, and teaching and non-teaching staff of the University of Delhi held a Tiranga Yatra in the area of the North Campus. It was organised on Wednesday, 10 August 2022 as a part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’. This campaign is to celebrate the 75th year of Independence.

Furthermore, DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh led the Tiranga Yatra or rally. It covered a total distance of 4 Kilometres. Participants included the students, officials, and teaching and non-teaching staff of the university. 

The Delhi University Tiranga Yatra was started from Gandhi Statue at University Gate Number 1. And passed through the Campus of Open Learning (COL), University Stadium, Education Department, Miranda House, Law Faculty, Hindu College, and St. Stephen’s College. Further, the rally ended at DU’s Gate No. 1 of Delhi University.

Delhi University Tiranga Yatra: Over 5000 Participants

The rally was attended by more than five thousand participants (students, teachers). During the rally, VC Yogesh Singh shared a few words and said that Yatra has reinforced the spirit of nationalism among the participants. And, enabled in strengthening the feeling of patriotism too.

Moreover, he said, “Our national flag, Tiranga builds a sense of patriotism, nationalism and brotherhood for the nation’s people. We all know that national unity is crucial for the country. As if India stays Eik or One, then it will remain Shresth. ” 

Besides, the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ was held for a North Campus’ New building and also a ”Shatabdi Vriksharopan’ (tree plantation drive) organised on the campus. The national flags, Tirangas on 20-foot poles were unfurled at the seven locations on the north campus.
