Over seven students of the University of Delhi’s Aryabhatta College have been suspended for misbehaving during online classes. The college took the action after few female students complained about the misbehavior.
Manoj Sinha, Aryabhatta College Principal confirmed that the Delhi University’s disciplinary committee instigated the action. A notification for the first-year students was also published on the college website. As per the DU norms, the notification of suspension has to be published on the college website. The students who demonstrated the misbehavior were also counseled so that action is not repeated. The principal added that the students have already been appeared before the DU’s disciplinary committee.

As per the reports, these seven students have never attended any of the online lectures since they got admission during the pandemic. These seven first-year students have messed with several female students after which a complaint was lodged with a professor. Later, the parents of these were also called to the college.
However, the seven students remained disrespectful even after getting a scolding. As a result, the DU’s disciplinary committee had to intervene in the matter. Sinha added that some of the complaints were even cited to the Internal Complainants Committee (ICC). The. Matters of sexual harassment are addressed to the ICC in all the Delhi University colleges.
A similar incident of misbehavior was witnessed in another Delhi University college last year during the online lectures.
