As per a notification issued by the University of Delhi on Sunday, the University had announced the reopening of its colleges from 1st February, Monday.

According to the reports, a statement issued by DU said that final year students of all courses who have practical subjects will be allowed to go back to colleges for their classes along with 100% staff strength.

The statement added that the decision was taken after a meeting was held with the various heads of departments and principals of different colleges of Delhi University.

The notification stated that Delhi University students will be permitted to physically visit their respective departments and colleges for their skill, library, laboratory, and related activities in small batches.

‘UNIVERSITY ON STREETS’ STARTED BY STUDENTS TO ASK FOR DELHI UNIVERSITY REOPEN DATE

The DU students will further have to adhere to the guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) issued by UGG, the notification stated.

In order to ensure the maintenance of social distancing and the conventional exit and entry points of DU colleges remain clutter-free, the heads of the departments have been authorized by the DU to plan out the timing of the staff members.

The notification suggested that the DU faculty members will be required to discharge their duties in different time slots of 9 AM to 5:30 PM and 9:30 AM to 6 PM.

DU REOPENS: STUDENTS SEARCH FOR PGs AND OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS

The University of Delhi was shut since March 2020 in view of the nationwide lockdown imposed by the Indian government amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Since then, classes for all the courses were being held in online mode to assure that DU students remain on track with their courses.

Now, with the final semester exams of students approaching, the University has decided to call back its final year students.
