In a recent notification released on 10th December, the University of Delhi released the promotion criteria for semester students of various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. As per the notification, the promotion criteria shall be adopted for the semester students of Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses registered with regular DU colleges/departments, Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), and School of Open Learning (SOL).
As per the notice, concerned DU regular students, SOL students, and NCWEB students shall be promoted as a one-time measure for the current academic session 2020-21 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. The promotion criteria have been released for DU regular students as well as for the SOL and NCWEB students.
Applicability of the promotion criteria
Promotion criteria released by Delhi University is applicable to the below-mentioned categories of students:
- The students of 2nd semester (Part I) or 4th semester (Part II) exams of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Students of 2nd-year undergraduate courses under annual mode and 2nd semester (1st year) Postgraduate courses registered with the School of Open Learning and Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB).
- First-year undergraduate students under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) of School of Open Learning.
Criteria for Backlog/Improvement Exam
According to the notification released at du.ac.in, the students shall be allowed to carry forward the subjects in which he/she has failed in a semester/year and shall be promoted to the next year. However, such students may clear the examination for the course in which he/she has failed/remained absent, when exams are held next year as the cycle of the semester and span period.
This may also be noted that today i.e. 10.12.2020 (5:00 PM Server time) is the last date for filling of the exam forms. Therefore, the students may be allowed to fill the forms in view of the notifications mentioned above.
