Delhi University ranks in QS World rankings by subject 2021. Twenty subjects offered by the University of Delhi managed to score a rank in the QS world rankings by subject 2021. Delhi University has secured the 208th position in the social sciences and Management subjects. DU has been ranked 208th position ranking at the top among Indian Institutions. Delhi University secured 2nd position in the subjects of Arts and Humanities and Life Sciences and Medicines among other top Indian institutions.

DU secured 252nd position in arts and Humanities whereas in Medicine adn Life sciences the varsity ranked between 401-450. The University of Delhi managed to secure 7th position in the category of natural sciences.

In the Humanities stream, the top position in India has been secured by Modern Languages and Philosophy, between 101-150 ranks. 2nd position among Indian institutions has been secured by History and English language and Literature which falls within the bracket of 151-200 ranking.

The Delhi University occupied 1st position among Indian Universities, in Linguistics, and this falls within 151-200 globally.

Delhi University has been ranked between 410 and 500 in the field of Engineering and Technology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, for Computer Science and Information Systems, it ranks between 351 and 400 whereas, for Mechanical Engineering, the varsity ranked between 401 and 500.

OTHER RANKINGS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  • Agriculture and Forestry is ranked between 201 and 250 with the second position in India,
  • Biological Sciences is ranked between 251 and 300 (3rd position in India)
  • Medicines are ranked between 351 and 400 (4th position in India)
  • Geography has been ranked between 151 and 200  (2nd position in India)
  • Environmental Studies with a QS ranking of 351-400 (5th position in India)
  • Physics and Astronomy with 201-251 QS world ranking  (8th position in India and the 400)
  • Chemistry (QS rank 351) and Mathematics (QS rank 315400) are at the 10th position in India

The Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, on 4 March 2021, had congratulated the 12 Indian institutions on securing a position in the top 100 and expressed his happiness.

The top three Indian institutes entered the group of the top-100 engineering institutes are IIT Bombay grabbing the top position in the Engineering and Technology category (IIT Bombay secured 49th position), IIT Delhi is at 54th position, and IIT Madras is at 94th position in the same category.

MIT, USA topped the QS WORLD RANKINGS 2021 and stood at the first position for the 10th consecutive year.
