Delhi University Protest: Student activists alleged that Delhi Police has detained them. Also, no action had been taken against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the Wrestling Federation of India chief. The protest was hold at Delhi University’s Arts Faculty on Wednesday.

All India Students’ Association (AISA), Krantikari Yuva Sangathan and All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO), Students’ Federation of India (SFI) were a part of the protest. The President of SFI Delhi said that this is not a new situation, the same happened when students of Indraprastha College for Women protested.

Further, she said, “The condition of women under this government is appalling. Women have to come on the street to register cases of sexual harassment as institutions fail to help them. But, there also police do more harassment then where will women go to demand justice? Do women always have to remain quiet?

DU STUDENT TRIED CUTTING HER WRIST OVER ‘HARASSMENT

Student organisations claimed, “Delhi University protest students were brutally dragged away from streets. Many students got injured and we demand immediate dismissal of the WFI chief.” Moreover, SFI stated, “The wrestlers have become fearless as they are protected by such a regime. But we will fight until we get justice.”

However, DCP Sagar Kalsi contrasts the students’ organization statements. He said, “No permission was sought, neither was any intimation tendered. First, the protestors were asked to disperse and maintain peace in the area. However, they didn’t leave so they were brutally removed. Among all the students, nearly 30 of them have been detained.”
