Nowadays, Delhi University is discussing about the extension of time taken to complete graduation. So, the executive Council of Delhi University scheduled a meeting on Friday to discuss the same. The document says that the normal duration of completing undergraduate course is 3 years. So, students will get 2 more years to complete their graduation.
The existing guidelines of Delhi University states that students follow semester system. So they get six years to complete their degree. Now the executive Council has some other plans.

It says many students entered into DU in 2016-17. Due to some reasons, they couldn’t complete their graduation, So, they will get additional two years to clear their backlogs. The proposed amendment also states that there would be many students who, because of exceptional reasons would not be able to complete their graduation even after getting two additional years. They can request for an extension of one year from the varsity.
STUDENTS UNDER ‘EX-STUDENTS’ CATEGORY
The regulating body clearly spelt out the word exceptional so that students may come to this decision only in rare chances. However, those students would come under ex-students category and would not be eligible for ranking.

For the students who took admission in 2015-16, the duration for them would still be five years. But for the students who entered in 2016-17, the duration for them is five years.
