It says many students entered into DU in 2016-17. Due to some reasons, they couldn’t complete their graduation, So, they will get additional two years to clear their backlogs. The proposed amendment also states that there would be many students who, because of exceptional reasons would not be able to complete their graduation even after getting two additional years. They can request for an extension of one year from the varsity.
The regulating body clearly spelt out the word exceptional so that students may come to this decision only in rare chances. However, those students would come under ex-students category and would not be eligible for ranking.
