Admission

DELHI UNIVERSITY LIKELY TO RECORD HIGHEST APPLICATIONS THIS YEAR

All the records of application may be broken in Delhi University this year. According to an estimate, more than 4 lakh applications will come this year for admission in undergraduate courses alone. Last year the number of such applications was around 3.5 lakh. The last date for filing applications for admission to undergraduate courses is August 31 and so far more than two lakh students have registered themselves.

Delhi University’s acting Vice-Chancellor PC Joshi says that the process of continuous applications is going on which will double by 31 August. This time also the admission is being done completely under the online process, but since last year, these timeless complaints are being received from the students. We have made a chatbox for them and their problems are being resolved immediately.

Admissions will be taken more than the prescribed number

This time the results of examinations like IIT-JEE and NEET have not come yet. As a result, students who used to go for engineering and medical courses are also trying their luck in the race for admission to DU this time. Normally when the results of those exams are out, many students will move to engineer and medical colleges.

STUDENTS SEEKING ADMISSION IN DU CAN ALSO APPLY FOR DU SOL

In such a situation, DU will take more admissions this year so that if students go to other colleges after admission, then the normal number can be maintained. Apart from this, other boards including CBSE did not take the examinations this year and the results were declared based on average marks. Because of this, all the students getting the same marks will have to be admitted based on merit, in such a situation more students will get admission.

NTA will take the entrance exam

Till last year, there were nine courses for which the National Testing Agency (NTA) used to take the entrance exam. This year there has been an increase in one course, Physiotherapy. Examinations will be held for all of them around September 25 and admission will be done based on the same marks.

When will the Delhi University open for students

Delhi University’s acting VC Professor PC Joshi said that he wants the students to get a chance to go to the classroom environment as soon as possible. But this will happen only when the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) permits by issuing guidelines for this. Recently, an order had also come to open classrooms and practical classes for science courses, but in the absence of such guidelines, they had to withdraw this order.
