DELHI UNIVERSITY ISSUES CIRCULAR ASKING STUDENTS TO AVOID PHYSICAL PRESENCE

The University of Delhi in a notification asked its students to stay inside their hostels or at home and avoid physical presence for their work to laboratories, libraries, and campus unless it’s necessary. The Delhi University administration has released an official notice after over 13 students from DU’s St. Stephen’s College were tested covid-19 positive. The development has come when Delhi University students were demanding the reopening of the University and the resumption of offline classes.

In its recent circular, the University of Delhi said that the essential work and academic activities will continue on campus with proper COVID-19 precautions which comprise mandatory thermal screening at college gates with a valid ID proof along with the purpose of visit. Inside the campus, students and faculty members will be required to follow proper social distancing norms while wearing masks is mandatory and spitting is prohibited inside the campus. Furthermore, entry of students inside faculty of arts, faculty of science, hostels, halls, etc. is restricted till further notice.

Booking of the seminar hall, conference center, etc. for any event or function or event remains canceled till further notice from the University. DU administration will now review the situation after 10 days and further decisions will be taken accordingly. DU in its official notification read that the University urges all its departments, colleges, hostels, and centers to remain attentive to deal with the present COVID-19 pandemic situation. Furthermore, all concerned are compelled to take appropriate measures for the benefit of their staff and students.
