The Institute of Eminence of Delhi University has decided to offer a fellowship programme. The programme will help to proceed with research into the varsity. Postdoctoral scholars from India and abroad will be a part of the group. They will research topics like climate change and sustainability, public health public policy and government, entrepreneurship development, transnational affairs, and skills enhancement.

This postdoctoral fellowship of the Delhi university Institute of Eminence is named after Maharishi Kanad. Scholars who have an excellent record of publication will look at this fellowship opportunity.

To honor him, the Institute has chosen this name. Candidates can submit their application to enroll for the fellowship by 23 August.

RESEARCH TOPICS DIVIDED INTO SUBTHEMES

So, the topics of research comprises of sub-themes. For example, a topic named climate change and sustainability includes six positions with sub-themes. the sub-themes are climate change, water resources sustainability ocean-atmosphere interactions, and human health impacts of climate change. On the other hand, there is a research topic named public health. It also includes six positions within subthemes.

Moreover, the subthemes of public health are social issues in public health and the public health epidemic. Similarly, for public policy and governance and transnational affairs, the fellowship program includes five positions. On the other hand, there are three positions under skill enhancement and entrepreneurship development. The sub-themes for the same are technologies and policies for drug discovery, intellectual property rights.

INSTITUTE OF EMINENCE WILL SELECT 70-100 SCHOLARS

MK Pandit is the CEO of the Institute of Eminence of Delhi University. He said that they have called the research scholars with good publication records. So, the reason behind this decision is to only build the publication profile of the university. The team would include 72-100 scholars who will have a good track record in terms of their publication. All the fellows will get 1 Lakh rupees per month.

GRANTS OFFERED BY DELHI UNIVERSITY FOR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME

So, the Institute of Eminence of Delhi University will offer them an annual research grant as well. For the science streams, the grant will be 2 Lac rupees and for humanities, social science, law, management, etc it would be ₹1,00,000. The scholars would be placed on a full-time position and the duration of the same will be two years. Scholars can extend the duration by one or two years as well.

So, analyzing the availability of funds and satisfactory performance, the expert review committee would take a decision likewise. However, scholars who would be a part of the programme cannot relinquish the fellowship before two years unless they get a permanent position in any institution.
