The University of Delhi has formulated another committee to investigate the harassment charges against a former chemistry department head. The formation of this three-member council was finalized at an administration council meeting of the Delhi University on Saturday.

As per the elected EC members, a report comprising the judge probing the harassment charges against Ramesh Chandra was not sighted at the meeting. The harassment charges were put up against Ramesh Chandra in 2018 and since then the case has been pending.

An executive council member, Seema Das who teaches political science at Delhi University’s Hindu College said that the University’s move to formulate another committee is certainly irrational. The members have already given their opinion on the outcome by calling the formation of the committee biased.
