Scientists of Delhi University will also help in finding out the reasons for the inundation of the Rishiganga and Dhauliganga rivers due to glacier breakdown in the Niti Valley of the Chamoli district. Seven scientists from DU’s Center for Himalayan Studies will prepare a concrete action plan to investigate the causes of the disaster as well as to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.

Center Advisor Prof. RB Singh states that an attempt will be made to collect meteorological data during the study, as there is a huge lack of weather data for the Himalayan region. They need to think about it more seriously after the incident of glacier breakdown.

We need to monitor the temperature of the upper atmosphere, not just the surface in the Himalayan region because, in fact, this temperature is responsible for the melting of glaciers. He said that the forests and rivers of the Himalayas affect the life of the whole of North India. During the course of the study, we will preserve the knowledge of mountainous regions.

They will also pay attention to biodiversity. In this context, it is necessary to mention Raini village. This village has been affected by the occurrence of glacier breakdown. It was from this village that the Chipko movement started.

WHY STUDENT ELECTIONS MAKE YOU QUESTION EVERYTHING?

This college is one of the best colleges of DU. The Andhra government should open new colleges and not associate any established colleges. He cautioned that if the need arises, the teachers will also agitate, but will not allow the college to be affiliated with other universities.
