Delhi Government has released the first quarter of the budget for the Delhi University colleges today, 13 April 2023. For 12 fully funded Delhi Government colleges allocated with a fund of Rs 400 crore. This is the first quarter of the fund which is released today.

Further, Atishi, Delhi’s Education Minister said that Kejriwal Government always supported the education sector as he always allocated sufficient funds. She said, “Our government always put the education sector in front and provides all the funds required during Assembly budgets.”

Moreover, she speaks about the Delhi government’s vision and its contribution to the education sector. She said, “Arvind Kejriwal government always believes in giving the largest portion of the budget to the education sector only. Every year the highest amount is allocated toward the funded Delhi colleges.”

Earlier, during the 2022-23 Assembly budget, the Delhi government allocated a budget of 361 crores. Whereas in 2021-22, the government allocated Rs 308 crore, Rs 235 crore in 2019-20 and Rs 213 crore in 2018. The budget goes on increasing every year which shows how much priority government gives to education. 

Besides, 12 fully funded Delhi University colleges include Acharya Narendra Dev College, Bhagini Nibedita College, Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Bhaskaracharya College, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, and DDUC. 

Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Maharshi Valmiki College of Education, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies and Shaheed Rajguru College and Keshav Mahavidhyalaya.
