The number of students applying for different undergraduate courses from different states. The number has seen a decline in trend this year. But, there’s been an increase in Kerala applicants.
The numbers have increased from 5,227 to 6,380 this year. As the registration process of Delhi university’s undergraduate courses is over. However, in terms of the maximum applicants received this year in DU, Kerala is now among the top 6 states.
The highest number of applications came from Delhi itself of 1,15,928 students. Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, and Rajasthan. However, last year Kerala was even behind Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh in the list.
Similar, to every year the students from the Central Board of Secondary Education tops the chart. with the highest number of registrations for the UG registrations. In the past students from Indian School Certificate board exams used to remain the 2 nd highest registrants.
However this year only 9,659 students from ISC have applied for admissions. And, a greater number of students from Haryana board 9,918 have applied for the UG admissions in DU.
This time around 2,80,000 students have applied for admissions in various Undergraduate courses from over 63 colleges. However, the admission seats remain 70,000 only for undergraduate admissions. The registration process for the courses ended on Tuesday.
UNRESERVED CATEGORY APPLICANTS
In the unreserved category, this time there was a spike in registration among women applicants. The registration of men remains low with 70,653 men as compared to women applicants with 94,921 applicants. Whereas, for the other category only 3 aspirants applied for UG admission in the university.
For the sports quota this year, there’s a drop in the applicants as compared to last year. The highest registrations remain athletics accompanied by Football, basketball, volleyball, and cricket. In 2020, 1621 students applied for athletics while this year it has dropped to 1358 athletes.
The University of Delhi conducts sports and extracurricular activities (ECA) admissions. As they remain according to the achievements of the applicants. And around 5% quota’s provided to the students under this. Before, Covid 19 these admissions used to be on a trial basis. However, from the last year, the admissions under this quota’s done based on evaluation of the certificates.
