Data compiled by various teachers exhibit the number of Delhi University ad hoc teachers. They have evicted stands at about 76%.

According to the data conveyed by teachers, out of a whole 615 Delhi University ad hoc teachers who have questioned education posts in varied colleges, around 465 have turned out till April 8. Senior DU officers could not reach for remarks.

The DUTA organized to keep a protest on Monday demanding the absorption of ad hoc teachers.The removal of ad hoc teachers was a long-standing request. The ad hoc teachers have said that many of them taught for over two decades were now without occupation.

The discussion did not last for more than five minutes and only a couple of queries were asked that too by those who don’t apprehend the discipline. In several of the colleges where I occurred for interviews, some of the panelists were incompetent to even structure proper questions.”

The retired economics teacher said it is an incredibly problematic situation. I arrive from a marginalized background. The residence cost has also moved up, how is one supposed to stay without occupation?

Yogesh Kumar said on any provided day around 180 nominees have to interview. The adequate time is six hours. It tells that each candidate will not get more than 2-3 minutes. This is not satisfactory.

Sant Prakash, an ad hoc teacher at Bhagini Nivedita College, said there are problems when those with small knowledge. They got assigned over those who have had  20 years of background and taught in a particular college. It appears there is no capacity for excellence anymore.
