Delhi Schools & Colleges to reopen from 5th Feb
Sisodia said that the Schools for classes 9th and 11th as well as institutions and colleges will reopen in Delhi from 5th February adhering to Covid-19 protocols. The students will be allowed to attend classes with the permission of patents in staggered manner.
The Delhi Government earlier permitted the reopening of schools in the national capital from 18th January for classes 10th and 12th in view of board exams, as per the officials of the Education Directorate.
A senior official at Delhi’s Directorate of Education said that in order to administer activities pertaining to practical work and pre board preparations, the Delhi Schools may call Class 10th and 12th students to schools from 18th January 2021.
However, a student must first gain the consent of parents and the standard operating procedures must be followed to be able to go to school.
The official said that attendance will not be made necessary as attending offline classes is completely optional for students.
Schools for all the classes in Delhi have been shut since March 2020 due to coronavirus pandemic. While various states had initiated partial reopening of schools after October, students in National Capital will return to schools after lock down.
