As decided by Delhi Disaster Management Authority at a meeting, even though cases of COVID-19 are increasing in Delhi but the schools in the city remain open. Schools opened for offline classes after a gap of 2 years post-pandemic, news of infections from schools has sparked concerns. Soon Covid-19 guidelines will be issued by Delhi Disaster Management Authority.
A senior official of DDMA explained that all the schools have been asked to report all cases to the education department and ensure that Covid protocols are pursued strictly. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is frequently monitoring the situation in schools.
Schools to come up with a separate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), decided by DDMA in an important meeting. The meeting was chaired by Lt Governor Anil Baijal. Wearing masks is compulsory in public places and a Rs 500 fine will be there on violators, decided by DDMA.
Delhi schools are taking serious and various measures like frequent cleansing and sanitizing, to restrict the spread of infection and avoid the shutdown of the campus.
