On Friday, the Delhi government announced the closure of all private and government schools across the national capital till further notice amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal through his official Twitter account announced the decision. He further stated that the decision has been taken due to a surge in Covid-19 cases in the national capital in the recent past few days.

Delhi’s Directorate of Education has asserted that the Delhi school students can only be called to provide academic guidance and assistance to prepare for upcoming exams. Furthermore, they will be required to get a prior consent letter from their guardians to visit schools.

Satyendar Jain, Delhi Health Minister had recently expressed that it seems the fourth wave of coronavirus pandemic is afflicting the younger population more.

Ajay Shankar Pandey, the District Magistrate earlier on Thursday had ordered the closure of all academic and educational schools, colleges, institutions, coaching centers in Ghaziabad till 17th April amid a surge in coronavirus cases in the recent weeks.
