Delhi is ranked at second position in the literacy rate of India. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia congratulated the education team of his government.

He praised his team on Monday, September 7. He expressed his happiness on twitter handle and tweeted that Delhi ranks 2nd best in the country in literacy rate. Congratulations #TeamEducation Delhi.

REPORT ON HOUSEHOLD SOCIAL CONSUMPTION

There is a report on Household Social Consumption – Education in India as a part of the 75th round of National Sample Survey – from July 2017 to June 2018. It provides a detailed statement of the rate of every state. It mentions the rate of persons aged seven years and above.

BEST LITERACY RATE OF SOME STATES

According to the survey and the latest study, the first place with the highest rate in Kerela. It is 92.2 percent. Delhi is on the second rank with 88.7 percent. Uttarakhand is on the third with 87.6 percent. Himachal Pradesh and Assam is on fourth and fifth position with 86.6 and 85.9 percent respectively.

WORSE RATE OF SOME STATES

There are some states in India whose literacy rate is worst. Andra Pradesh is at the last with the rate of 66.4 percent. Rajasthan is on the second
-last position with 69.7 percent. The rate of Bihar is 70.9 percent, Telangana 72.8 percent, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are 73 and 73.7 percentage.

LITERACY RATE OF URBAN AND RURAL AREAS

According to recent studies, the overall rate of India is 77.7 percent. The literacy rate of rural areas and urban areas is different. In rural areas, it is 73.5 percent, and urban areas it is 87.7 percent.
