Delhi High Court, about the petition of final year students, cleared the petition of open-book exams. It said that it does not want to take this matter any further.
The Division Bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Subramonium Prasad fixed the deadline for the varsity. Delhi University has to declare the result of open-book exams within the deadline.
The High Court passed an order according to which post-graduation students would get their results on or before October 31. Students pursuing B.A. program would get their results by November 6.
Delhi University released a tentative deadline for B.A. Honors and B.Sc. Course. Delhi HC accepted the deadline and announced to declare the results for the same from October 24 to October 30 respectively.
Delhi HC ordered to upload the mark sheet for DU admission. Moreover, the varsity will not allow any student to come for physical verification of the same. Professor Vinay Gupta is the Dean of Examinations at Delhi University. Delhi HC discharged the contempt notice issued to him.
After Delhi HC agreed to open-book exams of final year students, Delhi University conducted OBE in two phases. The first phase began on August 10 in online mode and the second phase began in September in both online and offline mode.
Delhi High Court supervised the conduct of OBE and evaluation progress. Moreover, it helped students deal with the problems that they faced while applying for foreign universities.
In September, the court asked Delhi University to issue letters to the Principals of all colleges and requested to hurry the evaluation. The court said this so that students may get their results in the first week of October.
