On the post of Vice-Chancellor of Jamia University, Dr. The petition challenging the appointment of Najma Akhtar was rejected by the Delhi HC on Friday. The Court has stated that on the post of Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Rules and fixed procedures have been followed in the appointment of Akhtar.

Justice V.K. Rao has said in his order that one of the names suggested by the search committee has been made vice-chancellor. He said that the court cannot express its opinion on the decision of the search committee.

The High Court has said that in such cases it should be seen what is the educational qualification of the person to be appointed and whether the procedures have been followed as per the laid down law.

Making this comment, the Delhi HC dismissed the petition challenging the appointment of Dr. Akhtar to the post of Jamia Vice-Chancellor. This petition was filed in the court on behalf of Ehtesham-ul-Haq. He alleged that the rules were ignored in the appointment of the vice-chancellor.
