Recently, a student seek his plea at the Delhi High Court regarding the PhD course at the Jawaharlal Nehru University. However, Delhi High Court dismissed the plea saying that the university has not invited any applications for the PhD course in Hindi.

Through the entrance examination, the student has applied for the PhD course under the category of Junior Research Fellowship in the National Eligibility Test. The advocate handling this case is Kumar Piyush Pushkar. He is the counsel of the petitioner.

He said that in the academic session of 2021-22, the Jawaharlal Nehru University did not offer any seats under the PhD course in Hindi other in any category. But it did so under the category the student has not appeared for any entrance examination. But she says that she should be in consideration under this category. It is because the NET-JRF exam is not conducted in the last three cycles.

Delhi High Court said that the student is not qualified. But she can take admission into PhD courses. However, a qualified NET-JRF candidate do not have to appear for any entrance exam. They can appear for the interviews directly. The candidate said that she gave her interview. But she was ineligible because of her not appearing for the exam.

JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY RELEASED ANSWER KEY ON DECEMBER 16

The Jawaharlal Nehru University conducts the entrance exam of its own at the national level. The NTA conducts the exam for some courses. They are of under-graduation, postgraduation and for the doctoral level programs. However, on 16th December, the National Testing Agency released the answer key for the academic session 2021 for different undergraduate and postgraduate program on its official website.
