The University of Delhi on Friday told the Delhi HC that DU officials are seeking the best possible ways to address the problem of students demanding early release of results. The Delhi University students are demanding early release of their final year results as they are seeking admission to foreign universities for higher education.

The Delhi University council has so far received 180 requests from undergraduate students and over 8 requests from postgraduate students demanding the comfort letters to be submitted at the time of admission in foreign Universities.

A two-tier bench of justice comprising Justice Subramonium Prasad and Justice Hima Kohli granted time to Delhi University officials to come up with a solution for it. The court has been adjourned till September 14 and the decision will be taken by the court on 14 September itself.

LAPSES AT CENTER ALLEGED BY DU LAW EXAM STUDENTS

Advocate Mohinder Rupal, representing the University of Delhi said the DU officials are bestowing with one another to come up with an adequate solution to address the problems of the final year undergraduate students who are seeking admission to foreign universities. The University is taking the best possible measures so that the comfort letters are worded adequately and the problem of release of final year results is also dealt with.

Final Year Results to be Prioritized for Postgraduate Students

The University of Delhi said that the final year postgraduate students who have requested for issuance of comfort letters to be sent to the foreign institute for admission can be prioritized for release of final year confidential results.

Delhi HC claimed that the aspect of the competitive grade point average or cumulative grade point average for evaluating the results of the undergraduate final year students is still not precise from the affidavit submitted by DU. The court ordered to emphasize on the measure and explain it precisely.

Delhi High Court was hearing the petition filed by DU students who are moving abroad for seeking higher studies. The matter popped up during the hearing of a plea challenging open book exam for DU final year undergraduate students. The University of Delhi earlier informed that the final year results will be declared by the end of October.
