Today, the Delhi Government announced to take up and bear all the expense of those children who lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with providing free education to such children and bearing their education expenses, Delhi Government will also take up the responsibility of their necessary expenditure and will take care of their upbringing.

Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, said in a press conference on Friday that he knows about many such kids who lost both their parents due to Coronavirus. He said doesn’t those children to feel orphaned and that he is there for them. Delhi Government will take care of their studies and upbringing, added Kejriwal.

He further informed that around 8,500 news cases were reported in Delhi and now the positivity rate has fallen to 12% in the last 24 hours.

In a similar attempt on Thursday, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, announced that those children who lost their parents will be given free education, and also the government will give a monthly stipend of Rs. 500 to students from class 1 to 8. For children studying in class 9 to 12, the M.P. government will give a stipend of 1000 per month. All the children, irrespective of studying at a government or private school, will be entitled to this monthly stipend. Also, the government will give a pension of Rs. 5000 per month.

Chhattisgarh state government will also bear the education expenses of such children under the state scheme ‘Chhattisgarh Mahtari Dular Yojna’.
