Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the Delhi govt is scheduling to reopen the schools, as the COVID vaccine is accessible to the public after vaccinating all frontline workers. The state government is currently considering how soon they can open schools keeping in mind the board exams.
The state government’s issued SOPs and guidelines have to be followed by schools by schools after reopening.
Education Minister Manish Sisodia and Delhi Deputy CM announced in December that there were no proposals to reopen the Delhi schools yet. However, Even if they begin vaccinating people by February, they will be proficient to vaccinate only a wide part by July. Therefore, there is no chance of reopening of schools before this. They also have to see how the exams will be held without putting teachers and students at stake.
Also, the Delhi govt plans to cancel nursery admissions for the year 2021-22 and instead recommends two batches of nursery and kindergarten in 2022-23. Although the principals of Delhi schools are not in favor of ending nursery admissions till next year because of the COVID-19 epidemic, even the government says that no ultimate conclusion has been taken in this regard yet.
Meanwhile, schools in several states including Maharashtra, Kerala, Bihar, Puducherry have reopened in January. The Punjab government has planned to reopen schools for classes 5 to 1 from tomorrow on 7 January. Schools will be held daily from 10 am to 3 pm.
