Deputy Chief Minister of the national capital, Manish Sisodia, at the first series of interaction said that the civil IAS/IPS should a large purpose. He was addressing the interaction initiated by the Delhi Government for the students of Delhi Schools who aspire to become civil servants. He said that civil servant should serve a larger purpose be it about eradicating corruption or removing hatred and violence in the society or be it about developing the rural India.
The event began with Udit Prakash Rai, Director of Education, addressing students. The initiative would allow students to interact with young civil servants every month. The Delhi Government said that this will help students in their understanding and preparation of the exam as the young officers will share their strategies/ insights of the exam and their experiences as well.
As the first session of the event around 60 students from classes 9-12 attended the session with Rai at Veer Savarkar Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Kalkaji. The session was also streamed live YouTube which enabled around 5,000 students to attend the same virtually.

Notably, Rai is an IAS officer of 2007 batch honing a degree of electronic engineering from BITS Pilani. He shared his experiences and gave some tips to the students as well. He said that this exam is more about the understanding than marks. He advised the students to choose their subjects based on their interests and knowledge.

Deputy CM also added that the young aspirants should also have dreams about what they would like to do once they become officers. He advised the students that if they become clear about the larger purpose then all the other hurdles can be overcome. Nothing can make them tired or scared in the pursuit of their dreams.
