Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has recently declared that the Delhi government will provide dry ration to the students of their schools for six months to ensure their proper nutrition under the Mid-Day Meal Scheme.
However, This decision has been accepted by the Delhi government as the school in the union territory have been shut since March 2020 in wake of the Covid-19 epidemic and this has hit the mid-day meal scheme in schools.
Kejriwal said at a dry ration distribution event at a government school in the Mandawali area that when the schools were shut, they decided to deliver money for the midday meal to the parents’ account. And now, it has been conceded that they will give dry ration for 6 months.
Arvind Kejriwal also expressed on Twitter that the Delhi government is devoted to guaranteeing proper nourishment of the children. Allocating dry ration kits under the mid-day meal scheme to the school students.
WHEN WILL SCHOOLS REOPEN IN DELHI?
All educational organizations, including colleges and schools, have been shut down in Delhi since March 22 in wake of the rapid spread of the coronavirus epidemic and the nationwide lockdown committed by the central government to decrease the threat of the virus.
Although schools across the country have been closed since March, several state governments have decided to continue regular classes in a phased manner from October 15, with various Covid-19 safety measures.
The Delhi government has not yet decided to reopen the schools and colleges. An official statement stated that schools will only be reopened in the national capital after the Covid-19 vaccine is made available.

Moreover, the Delhi government has not decided yet to reopen the schools and colleges in the national capital. An official statement stated that only after the Covid-19 vaccine is made available schools will only be reopened in Delhi.
Manish Sisodia, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, also said that for the time being schools will remain closed in the national capital because nothing is more crucial than the security of the school students in the middle of an epidemic.
