Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that there is a need to initiate talks with Delhi University officials and the Vice-Chancellor of DU, so that many pending issues can be resolved which are serving as the cause of controversy. On behalf of the office of Education Minister Manish Sisodia, we will invite the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University so that these pending issues can be discussed and resolved, said Arvind Kejriwal.
CM Kejriwal said that the Delhi government has decided to release Rs 28.24 crore for the fully funded Delhi University colleges, which are pending with the Delhi government. He further stated that we know and understand the problems of employees and teachers.
We do not want his salary to be held until the matter is sub judice in the court. We are releasing the amount so that the colleges do not face any problem and we will appeal to the court to resolve the issue that they should decide under which head this fund should be spent. We will allow the court to decide whether this fund should be included in revenue or any other item.

During this, CM Kejriwal ordered the release of Rs 28.24 crore for the salary of the educational and non-academic staff of DU colleges. He said that whether or not DU colleges can use the funds present in various heads to pay them, the Delhi government will do the funding as per the court’s order. In any case, the salary of the academic and non-academic staff of the DU colleges will not be allowed to stop. We will solve every issue with colleges.
At the same time, Education Minister Manish Sisodia said that any decision to increase the expenditure of 12 college fully funded colleges by the Delhi Government should be taken only in confidence of the Delhi Government. Also, to bridge the gap between Delhi Government and DU, 100 percent transparency should be ensured in the accounts and budget of colleges. During this announcement, members of the governing body of colleges, officers of the education department, principals, and chairman of colleges were present.
