A four-member committee has been formed by the Delhi Government to facilitate the participation of students from Delhi in the forthcoming Republic Day celebration at Rajpath. In an official statement, the AAP Government said that in the cultural program of the Republic Day parade on 26th January, students from three schools of the National Capital will participate in prescribed costumes as ratified by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and the Ministry of Defense.

The order published by the Delhi Government said that the procurement of all the materials including requisite costumes shall be made available after observing all the codes and formalities. Furthermore, a four-member committee has been formed for observing codes and formalities related to the procurement of services, related to the make-up of students, costumes, artificial jewelry, choreographer, recording of songs, etc.

Republic Day Parade to be carried by following COVID-19 Guidelines

The state government had directed the in-charges involved in the preparation for the Republic Day to comply with the Covid-19 guidelines. The notification read that the guidelines and the Covid-19 protocols issued by the Ministry of Health and Family and Ministry of Home Affairs should be followed strictly throughout the parade. Use of sanitizer, masks, and social distancing must be ensured during the practice sessions and on the final day of the performance at Rajpath.

The order added that as per the directions of the Ministry of Defense if the performances presented by the schools do not comply with the desired standard to Expert Committee, the performance of students is liable to be dropped at any time.
