AC MEMBERS CRITICIZING THE NAMES PROPOSED FOR DELHI COLLEGES

Many AC members of Delhi University are criticizing the names. According to Rajesh Jha, “DU administration has kept the Academic Council in the dark when they were discussing Four-year undergraduate program, then only this nomenclature proposal came before the council and passed without any debate.”

“We are waiting for the executive council meeting so that we can oppose this approval”,  he added.

DU, JMI, AND JNU CONFERENCES TO DISCUSS THE COMMENCEMENT OF OFFLINE CLASSES

However, the DU vice-chancellor, P.C Joshi confirmed all these names. In clarification, he said “VD Savarkar was a prominent freedom fighter. If you go to Andaman and Nicobar, the jail in which he was kept is still there.”

The question was also raised on the approved names of BJP leaders. Again Joshi justified that all the decisions have been taken by considering their contribution to society. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Brahm Prakash, and well-known Dalit leader J.B Phule have made an important contribution to the country. He added that all decisions are inclusive.

The Academic Council has approved the nomenclature list. Hereafter, the Executive Council will give the final approval.
