In this difficult time where all the universities are worried about the student’s semester exam due to the pandemic. Delhi university still has to give the previous year exam result.

The Delhi University is yet to declare results of several courses, including B.A. Economics (Honors) second semester and B.A Zoology (Honors) fifth semester but is also arranging ways to supervise next semester examinations.

As previously, there was a delay in the semester exams. These juncture teachers” strike and lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic have held up results by over four months.

Although, the university was designing proceed with the online examination, subject to proposals of committees set up by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry.

Vinay Gupta, Dean (Examinations) had said that the online examinations are seemed as the only way forward, particularly when students should not leave their houses. But the final conclusion will be taken after these committees.

students are nauseous over a pause in results of previous semester examinations.

One of a student of Master of Commerce at the School of Open Learning (SOL), Karan Gera raised issues over the delay. “It’s the result of a battle between DU administration and teachers. There has been no statement whatsoever about the uncertain result dates. Will, we ever get our result,” Gera remarked.

The DU administration and teachers are at logger-heads over the absorption of ad hoc teachers. Due to this, teachers protested the examination process in January.

The holdup has converged opinions of the DU’s two well-known student organizations.

“It has served the Delhi University Teachers Association’s (DUTA) intellect now. They keep their pressures over students good. Their penalty of the evaluation process has delayed results,” ABVP”s state media in-charge Ashutosh Singh told IANS.

“The trust shortage between the DU administration and the teachers must not be authorized to obliterate students” future,” Singh said.

Echoing Singh, media in-charge of the National Students” Union of India (NSUI) Lokesh Chugh criticized the DU administration for ceasing to function to work effectively.

“The messed up DU has been snuffing plans to conduct examinations online. It has failed to declare results on time. They have also failed teachers, compelling them to exercise to strike to get their rights,” Chugh said.

Meanwhile, attempts of IANS through phone and WhatsApp to induce an acknowledgment from the Dean (Examinations) only blow the wall of stillness.
