The officials of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering has released the admit card of GATE 2022. However, they postponed the release of the GATE 2022 admit card. Students were expecting the officials will postpone the exam. But they did not do so and finally released the admit cards.

Now, because of the spike in the coronavirus cases in the nation, students are urging to postpone GATE. They have signed a petition which states that the official must defer GATE because of the third wave.

Around 23,000 students have signed the petition. Moreover, they are also trending hashtag postponeGATE2022 on Twitter. Many organizations are conducting surveys and studying that the third wave is expected to come in March and continue till April.

REASONS TO POSTPONE GATE 2022

Students said that many other entrance exams are postponed because of the coronavirus cases. So, the officials must postpone their exams as well. On the other hand, educational institutions in India are shut down because of the coronavirus cases. Now, the government is risking the health of many students if they do not postpone GATE 2022.

WHEN IS THE ENTRANCE EXAM?

Around 8 lakh students are going to appear for GATE 2022 this year. IIT Kharagpur will hold the exam on 5, 6, 12, and 13 February. So, students can go through the exam schedule and eligibility criteria on the official website www.iitkgp.ac.in. The institute will hold the exam in computer-based mode and there will be two shifts of 3 hours. The timings for the same are 9 am to 12 noon and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
