The Common University Entrance Test and CUET exam will facilitate equal opportunity for all candidates. It will benefit every student across the country. All advantages of CUET are shared by Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh on Friday.
Further, at the webinar, DU VC remarked on the issues in the merit-based system of admission. He said different boards have different marking systems that promote inequality. Accordingly, it is discontinued.
Yogesh Singh said, “Common University Entrance Test is a new pattern. For the first time, the University of Delhi will conduct CUET exams. Till 2021, we have a merit-based system that means admission based on 12th class exams.” Additionally, he said, “Earlier system had some problems. Different marking systems are followed by different boards, which leads to a disparity among students.”
Furthermore, the webinar was conducted to inform candidates regarding the reservation policies. And, to apprise them about admission to UG courses under CUET. Besides, Vikas Gupta, DU Registrar; Haneet Gandhi, Prof. Sanjeev Singh was present in the webinar.

Moreover, the VC said, “The CUET will give equal and fair opportunities to everyone. This will benefit every individual across the country. Both rural and urban areas will be benefitted.”
At the start of April, VC announced admission through a new system. And, remarked the compulsion of CUET in 45 central universities across the country. Till 2021, admission was entirely based on 12th class marks that are merit-based.
