There are 3800 courses, 150 guided projects, 400 specializations, and 11 professional certificates this platform provides. It is not known by anyone that when the educational institutions would reopen. So it is a help for the students by Coursera that they can learn the course of their choice by staying at home during the lockdown. All the graduate and undergraduate students can access this platform to learn any course and earn a certificate for free.
Students will get an opportunity to learn from the best teachers across the globe and earn credentials from the world’s top universities. These universities include the University of Michigan, Yale University, and Duke University. Getting Professional Certificates from leading industry educators will help the student to become job-ready with in-demand skills.
Shravan Goli, Chief Product Officer and head of consumer revenue of Coursera said, “ In India alone, over 37.5 million higher education students have been impacted by the lockdown. This initiative will allow all the students from 993 universities and over 50000 colleges and standalone institutions in India that are currently under the lockdown to continue learning and acquire relevant skills.”
This free online programme has already got 19000 enrolments from learners in India. And after 30 September, students will be able to access guided projects that will develop job-relevant skills.
