University Grants Commission (UGC) asks all the varsities to conduct special exams for NCC cadets. The commission directed all the higher educational institutions to hold exams for NCC cadets on separate dates. As cadets are involved in the preparation or training camps for Republic day.

According to the official notification, “National Cadet Corps or volunteers are engaged in the training camps to prepare for Republic day in November and December. Consequently, they are facing trouble as they couldn’t attend semester classes and exams.”

Further, the University Grants Commission asks universities that they should not consider these separate exams as re-test of NCC cadets.

The commission added that all the higher educational institutions should take proper action for conducting special examinations for NCC cadets. Therefore, candidates will not have to face problems regarding semester examinations.

NCC cadet’s training involves several responsibilities among the Central Government, the Education Department, the State Governments, and the NCC itself. The volunteers of NCC are energetically engaged in numerous nation-building activities.

Additionally, on 29 November 29, the University Grants Commission had urged all the higher educational institutions to carry out awareness programs in the celebration of 2023 as the International Year of Millets.

Besides, on the proposal of India the United Nations and some other countries, have agreed to dedicate 2023 as the International Year of Millets.
