On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board announced the beginning date for the Board exams 2021. As per the board, the exam for class 10th and 12th will begin on 24 April 2021. For class 12, exams will end on May 12 whereas for class 10 exams may continue till 10 May 2021. Board has shared that it will make special arrangements as per the Covid-19 guidelines for over 56 lakh students.

There will be two shifts in which the exam will be conducted for both class 12 and class 10 students. The first shift will begin at 8:00 am and last until 11:15 am whereas the other shift i.e., the second shift will be from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm.

Dinesh Sharma, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, shared that considering the massive number of students who will be appearing in the exams, it is a massive task to conduct the examination. He further informed that despite everything, arrangements have been made as per the protocols and guidelines for COVID-19.

The number of examination centers has also been increased by the government to the previous years by 10 percent. It has been kept in mind while preparing the schedule that all high school exams are completed in just 12 days and Intermediate tests in 15 days, he shared.

Upon being asked about the possibility of one student having to appear in two exams in a day, he said the possibilities of that are rare.

Out of around 56 lakh students who will be appearing in the exams – 6 lakh from intermediate whereas early 30 lakh from high schools. 14 lakh out of those are female students who will be appearing in the exam.
