Term-wise syllabus

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has disclosed the revised term-wise syllabus for 9-12 classes. The term-wise syllabus will be applicable from this academic session 2021-22. The detailed syllabus of all subjects is available on the official website cbseacademic.nic. in. Apart from the syllabus, the marking scheme based on the exam format has also been released.

The board has earlier announced a new scheme for class 10 and 12 board exams for the academic year 2021-2022. Instead of one board exam at the end of the year, the academic session is divided into two semesters. Board exams will be conducted at the end of each semester.

The term I Exam:

The term I exam is scheduled to be conducted in November-December 2021 and will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). It will cover only the first part of the syllabus. The examinations will be of 90 minutes duration. CBSE will send the marking scheme and question paper to the schools, which will conduct the exam under the supervision of external examiners and supervisors and deliver the result to the board.

Term II Examination:

The Term-II examinations will be conducted in March-April 2022 at the examination centers as decided by the Board. The exam will consist of two hours paper with questions of different formats. But if the situation is not favorable for the descriptive exam then the term-II exam will also be in the form of an MCQ paper of 90 minutes.

Elcon International’s senior teacher and educationist Rajeev Jha told that the subjects in which 80 marks are of theory + 20 marks of internal assessment, theory in term 1 and term 2 will be of 40 marks Term-II 70 marks of theory. + 30 marks are for internal assessment, out of them in term 1 and term 2 the theory will be 35 marks + 15 marks for internal assessment.

Also, the subjects in which theory will be of 30 marks + 70 marks internal assessment, in term 1 and term 2, the theory will be of 15 marks + 35 marks internal assessment and subjects in which theory and internal assessment will be of 50 marks each. Theory in Term 1 and Term 2 will be of 25 Marks and Internal Assessment Marks will be of 25 Marks.

This time to keep the internal practical/marking/ assignment evaluation fair, reliable, and transparent, the subject-wise data will have to be uploaded on the CBSE portal. The internal assessment of practical subjects will be done in the presence of internal and external examiners and the marks will be submitted by the school to the board.
