Today, The central board of secondary education (CBSE) has launched a new app named ‘ Dost for life’. This app has been launched for the psycho-social wellness of students during the pandemic.
It majorly targets students of classes 9-12. For the ease, convenience, and utility of students and parents within the safe home environment, CBSE has departed from the existing practice of counseling through toll-free numbers across the country. The board has now designed this new facility to ensure the Psycho-social wellness of students.
Students and parents from CBSE-affiliated schools in different geographies across the world will be catered through this new App. Free of cost, live counseling sessions will be conducted. They will be held thrice a week On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Trained counselors and principals conduct these sessions for other parents and students. For this program, there are 83 volunteers. 66 of those are in India whereas 17 others are located in the USA, Japan, Kuwait, Oman, Nepal, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
The free live sessions are available in two slots. Students can choose any of the two slots – 9:30 am to 1:30 pm or 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm and they will be connected through a chatbox. The ‘Dost for Life’ app can be easily downloaded on any android phone as it is available on the Google play store.
