The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE Board) has curtailed the syllabus for class 10th social science exam by providing relief to the students across the nation. CBSE has come up with this decision of reducing the syllabus to provide a leeway to class 10th students in broad exams.

The CBSE  Board class 10th social science paper is scheduled to be conducted on 27th May. A total of five units from the social sciences syllabus have been eliminated for the class 10th students.

The revised syllabus of social science will be displayed on the official website of CBSE. According to the Union Ministry of Education, due to the coronavirus situation, the working days of the classes have been reduced this year. Classes for most of the students have been conducted in online mode. In such a situation, now the parents, teachers, and students themselves are also in favor of lessening the syllabus for the class 10th students.

CBSE BOARD EXAM: INSTRUCTIONS ISSUED TO SCHOOLS REGARDING PRACTICAL EXAM

Previously, Ramesh Pokhriyal the Union Education Minister said that in view of this coronavirus situation arising across the nation, the CBSE board has been advised to curtail the syllabus.

After receiving the directions from Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, CBSE has curtailed the syllabus in various subjects by 30 percent. A specific syllabus would no longer be a part of the CBSE board exams and prescribed subjects scheduled for internal assessment.

School teachers and principals would further ensure that students are notified about the curtailed subject contents to combine varied topics.

As per the Union Education Minister, in wake of the coronavirus situation, concrete recommendations were invited from academicians from across the country on the matter of syllabus reductions. More than 150 academicians across the nation have provided their suggestions on the matter.
