On Saturday, Captain Amarinder Singh, the chief minister of Punjab, canceled the exams of universities and colleges. This has been done by him because of the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the state. The press releases of the government said that the exams of those universities which are currently being conducted online will continue without any interruption.
Captain Amarinder Singh organizes live sessions on Facebook called #AskCaptain. Captain Amarinder Singh in is weekly session said that students of university and college will be promoted based on the results of the previous year.
But those students who wish to improve their performance can take exams later once the pandemic subsides.
He said that the Universities and Colleges were in the process of implementation of this decision. In the next few days, the decision will be announced.
The Chief Minister said that on the school board examinations, they were following the decision announced by CBSE a few days ago in the High Court.
However, Captain Amarinder Singh urged all the students to study earnestly even if the exams were canceled. He told the students that they must continue working for their future.
Captain Amarinder has taken a major initiative for the ex-servicemen. The press release further read that he has increased the number of attempts for the PCS Examination.
The SC candidates will get unlimited chances. According to the existing system, the general category of people got four chances. But now, they will get six chances.
The number of attempts has been increased to nine for the BC category of ex-servicemen. Captain Amarinder Singh added that he had received many petitions from ex-servicemen who had asked him to put them at par with the general category of aspirants.
