IGNOU launches online certificate programmes in Spanish and French

IGNOU offers BTech and Diploma in Engineering courses on distant learning mode. But these courses were banned by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The UGC stated that technical and vocational courses cannot be conducted in distance learning mode. It is a violation of rules.

After this, both the technical courses of IGNOU were closed. But in the 2011-12 academic session, it became difficult for those who took admission in these courses of IGNOU. Now AICTE has given relief to all those students who had taken admission in these courses of IGNOU till 2011-12. Because this was the last batch.

It is to be noted that in the year 2018, the Supreme Court validated the BTech and diploma in engineering degree of the students of IGNOU who had enrolled till the academic session 2009-10.
