#BoycottNetflix has been trending on Twitter today. A recent web series has been launched on Netflix named Krishna and His Leela. This film has landed Netflix into a lot of controversies. The male character, in this Malayalam show, has been shown having sexual encounters with different women. The name of one such woman is Radha.
People are trending #BoycottNetflix as the usage of the names of Hindu deities coupled with its erotic content has infuriated the audience. People think that the show is made as an insult to the Hindu religion. The term ‘Hinduphobia’ also appeared in several tweets.
The posters of Paatal Lok and Betaal are also circulating on Twitter, showcasing that these shows too featured content that was anti-Hindu. Netflix has been called out by many people for showing content that is explicit in nature.
Many people have resorted to canceling their subscriptions of Netflix. Rana Daggubati who has presented this film is in the line of the wrath of the audiences. Some people have also charged Netflix of having a 30% share in the rapes which are happening in our country.
The film streaming on Netflix has Siddu Jonnalagadda, Shraddha Srinath, Seerat Kapoor, and Shalini Vadnikatti in the lead roles. The film was streamed on Netflix on 25th June.
Some people have asked on Twitter that is Netflix doing this repeatedly only to insult the Hindus. Some people have also accused Netflix of using controversial issues to make content and earn profits.
It has been quite common that the content shown on Netflix has come under the critical eyes of its audiences. Earlier, shows like Laila and Sacred games were also the points of criticism for the audiences.
