Commissioner of BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation), Iqbal Singh Chahal recently presented the BMC budget on Wednesday. The Education Budget of the BMC has increased from last year’s Rs 2,944.59 crore to Rs 2945.78 crore this year. This data has shown a negligible rise in the education budget.
The Capital expenditure is down to 244.01 crore this year from Rs 301.33 crore of the last year.
Rs 1 crore will be given to Mumbai Marathi Granth Sangrahalaya by the BMC for the 29 libraries which it runs.

Rs. 15.90 crore will also be spent on Covid-19 related equipment for the school going students.
Pulse oximeters, sanitizers, masks, and infrared thermometers will be bought from the allotted fund.
