For the last 6 months, the teaching and non-teaching staff of 12 Delhi University colleges are not getting their salaries due to special audits that Delhi Government conducted in DU.
Teachers of those DU colleges that the Delhi Government provides funds to are not getting their salaries. The foremost reason to put a hold on their monthly salary is the continuation of special audits.
DU COLLEGES HAVE TO PAY SALARIES WITHIN 2 WEEKS
So, the Delhi Government decided to pay the salaries from the Students Society Fund. It also urged the colleges to pay the pending salaries of teaching and non-teaching staff within 2 weeks.
DU COLLEGES CANNOT PAY SALARIES FROM SSF
However, Delhi University Teacher’s Association did not agree with this temporary solution of payment of salaries. According to them, using funds kept for students welfare and activity for teachers purpose is not justified.

On Wednesday, BJP MP Rakesh Sinha accused the Delhi Government. So, he denounced the government for striving towards sabotaging higher education and stop grants to 12 Delhi University Colleges.

Rakesh Sinha wrote to the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal. He wrote that Kejriwal is going against the constitutional duty and moral obligations through such persistent action. Therefore, thousands of teachers and non-teaching staff of DU colleges did not get their salaries.

Sinha further stated in his letter that the Delhi Government had also withheld the compensation of the Children Education Fund and medical bills for the treatment of staff from DU colleges.
