In Diwali Mela Delhi University, games are mandatory to keep. Without games, there is no fun or we should say are Diwali Mela is another reason to play fun games. Students and teachers put different games stalls and charge a minimal cost for each turn. There are games like Tambola, Dumsharaz, Rings, and many more. All the students make creative games and play with the students. The price of each game is not more than Rs.50. students and teachers keep different prizes for the winner. Dance is the most memorable part of any event. So, Diwali Mela is always incomplete without dance. All the students and teachers groove on the dance floor. Students while appearing for du exams buy 10 years’ books. So, some publishers also arrive at the college to sell college books to the students which include all the question papers of the past 10 years. Other than that, there are many stalls of drawing books, diaries, caps, and even girl’s accessories girls. Female teachers love to buy from such kinds of stalls.
As it is Diwali Mela, so things related to Diwali and decorated items are also sold. There are many beautiful candles and hangings which are sold in Diwali Mela. Some of the committees even put a stall of hand-made decorative items for everybody. On the other hand, some committees sell organic rangoli colors. Items related to Diwali are available in such Diwali Mela. However, nobody puts a stall on hackers because crackers are banned in Delhi and harm the environment. So, all kinds of shopping stalls are put by the teachers and students committee.
It is rightly said that laughter is brightest where food is best. Moreover, how can we ignore food when we are at our best mood? Food stalls are also placed in Diwali Mela. Teachers and students get in contact with different stores and shops so that they can come for a day to sell their items in the college. So, through this kind of contract, different shop owners place their stalls in the college.
Students need not have to go anywhere outside the college’s premises to have. They will get everything inside the college only. Both snacks and main course is available. Moreover, some street food like Bhel puri, Pani poori, Tikki, Veg Roll, and cotton candies are also available. How can we ignore ice cream after such amazing food? Students contact with different ice-cream parlors like Vadilal, and Havmore and such ice-cream sellers also arrive at the college campus. The sellers provide different offers on food items and students avail of it at less price.
As the heading suggests, students and teachers also organize different shows and competitions for the students. DU Colleges have several cultural societies like Dance Society, Music Society, Arts Society, and Dramatic Society. Such societies prepared their exhibitions and performances for the students to showcase. Moreover, a few of them even organizes different competitions for the students.
