The outstanding wrestler Bajrang Punia representing India lost 12-5 to Rio 2016 bronze medallist. The star wrestler represented India at the Tokyo Olympics on Friday but was in a contentious mood after losing. He also lost to Haji Aliyev of Azerbekistan. Haji has won the World Championship three times jn the men’s 65 kg semi-final.

 

In the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday, Bajrang Punia will fight against Daulat Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan and Adama Diatta of Senegal. This match would be fought for bronze medal on Saturday

Through the passivity rule, Bajrang took the lead in the first period. But Aliyev dran two points for himself later. After earning 2 more points, the first period ended with a 4-1 lead. In the Tokyo Olympics, Aliyev caught Bajrang in an ankle lace and tried to take up the lead of 8-1.

On the other hand, Bajrang Punia managed to grab two points and the lead was 9-3. Bajrang was back into the game and form. He earned two more points, making it to 5, and tried to reduce the margin between the two. The lead went to 12-5. Later in the last second appeal Bajrang turned down.

Bajrang won and open the door of the semi-final for himself. This was just because of Morteza Ghiasi loss. Later Bajrang pinned ghiasi as well and sealed the victory.
