A Delhi judiciary has consented bail to a Delhi University (DU) professor who was imprisoned over an official social media post on Gyanvapi Mosque. The lecturer can walk out on bail after providing an agreement of Rs 50,000
As per the authority, the lecturer Rattan Lal made critical statements about a ‘shivling’ found inside Varanasi’s Gyanvapi cathedral complex. He was generated before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Siddhartha Malik at Tis Harari judiciary on Saturday 21st of May. Lecturer Lal had reached the Delhi judiciary pursuing bail and safety.
“We are going his bail petition. He is not illegal and will not drive away. You [Police] did not perform any observation on him or provide him a possibility to answer the objection. The offenses are bailable,” told his attorney.
Meanwhile, the Police of Delhi has documented a petition pursuing judicial supervision of Rattan Lal. The authority noted that the trial is an important one as all social account posts have a tremendous impact on the community.
