After years in the Ayurveda Faculty of Institute of Medical Sciences, located at Kashi Hindu University, MD-MS studies are going on again. Approval to increase the race by the department was obtained in the meeting of Bagasi (Policy Planning Committee) on Monday.
As of 2005, there were only 25 MD-MS classes, while there were only 22 teachers. Now the teachers have reached 121 in number. In such a situation, it has been decided to increase the files keeping in mind the number of teachers, facilities, and standards of Central Indian Medical Council. For this, the CCIM (Central Council of Indian Medicine) team by March is working.
However, each seat of MD / MS in the medical field matters a lot. The Ayurveda Department was started in 1922 by the initiative of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Ji, the Ayurveda College at BHU. Later it became a college. It is being told that the MD-MS course started here in 1963. Gradually, its seats increased to 25, which remained stable for many years. In 2009, under the OBC chapter, 14 seats were increased. Subsequently, in 2020, 11 seats were increased under ESW. Now there are more than 50 seats here.
New Delhi and Jaipur, Residential Scheme is applicable only in BHU of Varanasi in the country, under which MD-AIIMS students also get a salary. This scheme came into force here in 1995.
The first-year student gets Rs 56100 per month along with other expenses. At the same time 57800 for second-year students and 59500 for third-year students plus other expenses.
PPC has got the green light to increase MD / MS seats. The number of teachers here is up to 121, based on which the seats can increase to more than 63. For this, the CCIM team is going to inspect by March. Preparations for this have been started.
